What a Human Design chart tells you
A BodyGraph is dense, but four layers carry most of the meaning. These are the results every human design reading starts from.
Your human design type
Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector or Reflector. Your type describes your aura, your natural way of engaging with the world, and the strategy that removes resistance from your decisions.
Your authority
Emotional, Sacral, Splenic, Ego, Self-Projected, Mental or Lunar. Authority is the body's built-in decision-making process — the trustworthy signal to follow when a choice matters.
Your human design profile
A pair of numbers like 4/6 that colors how you meet the world: investigator or hermit, opportunist or heretic, martyr or role model. Profile shapes the personality your type expresses through.
Nine human design centers
Head, Ajna, Throat, G, Heart, Sacral, Spleen, Solar Plexus and Root. Centers shown in color are defined and consistent; open centers are places where you sample and amplify the people around you.
Channels and gates
Thirty-six channels and sixty-four gates connect the centers. Defined channels are life-long strengths; activated gates color the graph black for personality and red for the unconscious design.

Background
Human Design explained without the jargon
Human Design was synthesized in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu from astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, the chakra system and quantum ideas. You do not need to believe any of it to find your chart useful — treat it as a structured mirror for self-reflection.
Two calculations in one chart
Every BodyGraph blends two moments: your birth (personality, drawn black) and a second point 88 degrees of solar arc earlier (design, drawn red). That is why a human design chart needs your exact birth time — the design calculation shifts with every hour.
Why birth time and place matter
The gates move roughly one degree every four hours. A wrong time zone can flip your type or authority. This human design tool reads the historical offset for your city on your birth date, including half-hour zones and wartime changes, instead of guessing.
Type is a strategy, not a label
Generators and Manifesting Generators are here to respond, Projectors to wait for recognition, Manifestors to inform, Reflectors to sample a full lunar cycle. Using your strategy is the practical heart of human design — everything else is detail.
Open centers are not weaknesses
A defined center is consistent; an open center is sensitive and wise. Much of the unnecessary pressure people feel — to be certain, to be busy, to prove worth — is conditioning picked up through open centers, and it fades once you see it on the chart.
An experiment, not a doctrine
Ra Uru Hu called human design an experiment: try living your type and authority for a season and watch what changes. The system is not scientifically validated, so hold conclusions lightly and use the language that proves useful.

Is this human design chart really free?
Yes. Every human design tool on this site is free, with no account, no email and no payment. The calculation runs in your browser and the chart downloads as a PNG.
How accurate is the calculation?
Positions come from standard astronomical algorithms (VSOP87-based), the design moment is solved by 88 degrees of solar arc rather than a fixed number of days, and time zones use historical rules. Results match the major reference charts we test against.
What if I don't know my birth time?
You can still generate a chart — the tool uses 12:00 noon and warns you that type, authority and profile can shift. For a reliable human design reading, a birth certificate time is worth tracking down.
Does human design conflict with religion or therapy?
Human Design is a self-reflection system, not a religion, a medical framework or a substitute for professional care. Many people use the vocabulary alongside therapy, coaching or spiritual practice; none of it is scientifically validated.
Why do some gates have stripes?
Black means the gate is activated in your personality (birth moment), red means the unconscious design, and stripes mean both. Gated halves of a channel color separately for the same reason.
Can I chart someone else, like my child?
Yes — enter their birth data. Charts for children are popular with parents who use human design vocabulary to understand how each child's energy differs. Nothing is stored or uploaded.
What is the difference between type and profile?
Type is how your energy engages the world (five options, one strategy each). Profile is the costume your personality wears while doing it — twelve combinations built from six lines. Both come from the same birth moment.
